Under his leadership, the Academy has undergone a transformative shift. Recognizing music’s unifying power across borders, Mason championed global growth initiatives. He fostered diversity within the organization, establishing the Songwriters & Composers Wing and the Black Music Collective. This commitment to inclusion extends to the prestigious GRAMMY Awards®, which have become more transparent and representative of the vibrant musical landscape.

Mason actively advocates for creators’ rights in Washington D.C., ensuring musicians are fairly compensated for their work. His dedication extends to those in need – during the COVID-19 pandemic, under his watch, MusiCares® distributed over $40 million in relief funds to struggling music creators.
