Cindy James is a globally recognized music executive and General Manager of Virgin Music Group, North America, the world’s leading partner to independent labels, artists, and entrepreneurs. In this role, she oversees the label, artist and operational strategy across the region. Virgin Music Group’s roster includes many of today’s most influential independent labels and artists, including Partisan, Dirty Hit, Because, Mom+Pop, Sumerian, and True Panther, as well as Joji, St. Vincent, Kings of Leon, and James Blake.

Prior to her current role, Cindy was Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Marketing at Virgin Music Group. She previously held senior leadership roles at Island Records and spent a decade at Sony Music Entertainment across Sydney, London, and New York.
