Kamala Avila-Salmon is the first-ever Head of Inclusive Content for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group where she develops and embeds DEI strategies into the studio’s key creative, marketing, and business decisions to reflect a globally diverse audience in the film slate. Attaining her BA and MBA at Harvard, she has led marketing campaigns at companies from Bad Boy Records to NBC, Google, and Facebook. She is an outspoken voice on issues of race, penning Medium articles and LinkedIn blogs on racism in corporate America and hosting and creating the podcast, “From Woke to Work: The Anti-Racist Journey”, geared at moving people from “woke” feelings to clear, effective actions that advance racial justice.
