Tyler Mitchell

CEO, Impact

Tyler Mitchell is a producer, writer, and entrepreneur whose experience sits at the intersection of content creation and technology. Mitchell is the CEO of Impact, a technology startup he co-founded with Academy Award winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer that is leading innovation in film and television development and production, revolutionizing the way that talent is sourced, material is developed and projects are produced. Impact was named the #2 Most Innovative Company in entertainment by Fast Company in 2021, “for exploding the typical Hollywood development system to surface fresh voices”. In 2022, Impact expanded its purview from development to production with the launch of Impact Crew, a global professional network designed to streamline the complex processes necessary to mount and run successful productions, simplifying how crews are hired and productions communicate.

Prior to Impact, Mitchell was Executive Vice President of Imagine Entertainment, where he oversaw a slate of live-action projects and spear-headed a joint-venture with Animal Logic animation, closing a five-year producing and co-financing partnership with Warner Bros. Before joining Imagine Entertainment, Mitchell produced and arranged the financing for several films, including The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Lucky Number Slevin, Maudie, and the upcoming Treehorn Family, the first animated feature directed by Ron Howard. As a writer, Mitchell has written for two prime time shows on NBC, and co-wrote the story for The Heart of Rock & Roll, an original musical inspired by the songs of Huey Lewis & The News, which is heading to Broadway in March of 2024. Mitchell started his career at FilmEngine, where he oversaw the development, production and financing of seven feature films including The Butterfly Effect and The Rum Diary. Mitchell graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Economics.
